The Vienna Yearbook of Population Research (VYPR) is an open-access journal featuring peer-reviewed research and review articles addressing population trends as well as a broad range of theoretical and methodological issues in population research. The journal also publishes Debates featuring invited short contributions and reflections on a selected question or issue.

The journal has been published since 2003 by Austrian Academy of Sciences Press and is hosted by the Vienna Institute of Demography of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. While based in Austria, it aims to give a global coverage of population issues and attract high-quality contributions from authors from different regions and backgrounds. The journal is coordinated by Editor and Managing Editor jointly with issue guest editors, who are chiefly responsible for individual volumes. Their activity is overseen by international Editorial Board.

Articles are published online on a rolling basis. Printed copies are published annually in full colour, usually towards the end of the calendar year.
