Messenger Runal gets letters to spread the news of Willehalm’s rescue and of their arrival; he travels to Orense to Willehalm’s brother Bertram, then to Naribon, to Haimrich and Irmenshart. She laughs when reading the letter and gives him presents (garments etc.) for Arabel and her suite. Haimrich then travels to the king and the queen, his daughter, Willehalm’s sister. She jumps up and asks him loudly (in a not very ladylike way) about the events; she cries tears of joy. 3000 knights and nobles arrive at the king’s court.

So he met the beautiful Arabel and the three queens who celebrated a feast for their gods. When Thiebalt had to go to war, Arabel had to act in his place. She often let Willehalm out of prison.

On the sixth day of their journey, they realized that they were pursued by heathens. They took refuge on an island ruled by a Christian burgrave. The heathens besieged the island with war-machines. During their deliberations with the heathens, the mariner provoked Thiebalt by describing the love between Arabel and Willehalm. A storm destroyed the heathens’ ships during the night. The burgrave and his wife then accompanied Willehalm and Arabel to France.

When the tale is finished, the emperor, count Haimrich and the other nobles thank the burgrave, the chatelaine and Arabel for what they did for Willehalm. Arabel points out that she now is a chatelaine, not a queen anymore. Loys laughs with joy. He and his suite take leave. Count Royr of Tynant informs them that the pope stays in Paris at the moment and advises Haimrich to beg him to baptize Arabel.
