A peasant couple avoids going to church in heavy snow on Palm Sunday in order to save time, but confesses mutually. The wife begins and confesses adultery with several lovers. She is easily forgiven and is punished with three soft blows. The husband, who confesses just one indecent touch of the maid Adelheid, is beaten heavily with the broomstick. Epimythion: A man is better off to let his wife confess to the minister.
