DbF-1:   Three women bargain which among them is the best in betraying her husband. The best will earn the ring they have found at a well.

DbF-115:   The first tells them that she wanted to fry fish for her husband on Friday. But she meets her lover by the fire who takes her with him for one week. When she comes back on the next Friday at the same time with the fried fish, she convinces the angry husband that he has fallen asleep while she fried the fish.

DbF-190:   The second convinces her old husband that she has to travel with the lady of the night. When she rests during the night in the garden together with her lover and comes back when the cock crows, her caring husband brings her light to prevent her from falling down.

DbF-323:   The third tells them that she has made an underground passage to her lover from her bed. When her husband sees her one day at the knight’s place she runs back through the tunnel to her house and welcomes her husband there. So he gets the impression she has a very close resemblance to the knight’s wife. The three women are not able to decide to which the ring should belong and the reader is to decide.
