Dulciflorie (>1210)

Dulc-1:   King Confortin of Normandy and his wife Crisante have no children. In old age, God gives them a girl they call Dulceflorie. The king loves the child dearly and has a place built enclosing his daughter together with her instructor. There she grows up learning all virtues of the court.

Dulc-125:   One day the king invites guests. A knight admires the palace and starts to talk with Dulciflorie and notices she is totally without experience.

T 381 Imprisoned virgin to prevent knowledge of men (marriage, impregnation) usually kept in a tower.

Dulc-350:   When seeing a sparrow hawk on the knight’s arm she is curious. He offers the sparrow hawk for her favors. When she is not able to find love, he comes into her chamber and helps with the search. After having his wishes fulfilled he says farewell and gives her the hawk. She caresses him and he bites her. She is trying to feed it with bread and cheese but it doesn’t take it.
