HKBK-1:   Promythion: Being abroad is educational. High born men send their sons to the university. The son of the French king studies unknown in Erfurt and because he is rich he is leading a good life.

HKBK-155:   During this time some mysterious thefts take place. The rich student is a suspect and the mayor has to look into the origin and finances of the young man. The prince remains incognito and tells them that he gets half pound pennies of the housewives and the half of the servants. The abashed citizen refuses to look further. After that the mayor sits with his beautiful wife by the window when the student passes.

HKBK-215:   He smiles in remembrance and tells his wife the story. She condemns the student’s lifestyle but is hurt that he didn’t visit her house and wants to invite him. The husband realizes that he has spoken too much and decides to let them proceed.

T 13 Woman falls in love as result of husband’s praise of her (a) suitor

HKBK-264:   The mayor pretends that he has important business. The wife sends for the prince. The clandestinely returned husband surprises them when they have a bath. He takes away their clothes and closes the chamber but returns after a while with food and drink. Then he asks the student to spare his house from this time on. He will get the lover’s money nevertheless.

HKBK-357:   Ashamed by the mayor’s generosity the prince reveals his secret and assures him that he never had dishonored anyone. As a reward for his indulgence he gives him precious trade charters. Epimythion: He who is able to master himself behaves wisely.
