HKLFb-1:   Promythion: None on earth is betrayed so often as husbands by their wives. Three peasant women, Jütt, Hiltgart and Mächilt, have sold their eggs on the market and want to share the profit. Hiltgart propose only one heller is to be shared so they decide that it should to be given to the best in betraying the husband.

HKLFb-80:   Hiltgart lies down and pretends that she is only well again if her husband Perchthold has his bad tooth pulled out. He agrees.

HKLFb-210:   But when the husband is unconscious she calls the minister and makes her husband believe that he has died already. From his deathbed he has to watch her and the servant Hainz making love.

J 2311.4 The dead man speaks up. [A numskull who has lain down thinks he is dead. The wife and the servant are committing adultery beforehis eyes. He speaks up: “I would have taken revenge for this, when I was alive”.]


HKLFb-308:   Jütt makes her husband Cuonrat drunk and shaves his head like a monk’s tonsure and sends him to church in the morning to read mass for the dead neighbor.

HKLFb-475:   Mächilt persuades her naked husband that he is clothed and sends him to church. There he is not able to open up his purse (sac) because his wife has cut it pretending that she wants to help him. When he screams the others realize that their wives have pulled their legs. Angrily they run to the forest. Epimythion: The poet has the reader decide which one has to get the heller as reward.
