Heinrich Kaufringer, Die zurückgelassene Hose (ca. 1400)
Euling, K. (ed.): Heinrich Kaufringers Gedichte. (=StLV 182) Tübingen 1888. Vol. 10, p. 121–124

HKZH-1:   The surprised lover has to leave his trousers when the husband is returning unexpectedly. The husband notices the garment and is suspecting the wife of adultery but she shakes him and forces him to say trouser two times. Then she takes it and throws it out of the window and says a blessing against the illness of her husband. While the lover puts on the trouser she explains to her husband she wanted to cure his illness by scaring him with lent trouser and by having him say trouser. The grateful husband gives her new clothes as reward. Epimythion: We men are all betrayed by women – even Samson, Salomon, David, Daniel and Aristotle.
