HevFr-1:   A rich man surprises his wife together with her lover and kills both. His next two wives are killed too. Eventually no one will give him his daughter in marriage.

HevFr-290:   One day he loses his way while hunting and asks a noble but poor neighbor for lodging. The host has three beautiful and virtuous daughters who are appreciated by the guest. He woos the eldest and soon they get married.

HevFr-440:   But the three times betrayed husband is suspicious and decides to test his wife. He has one of his bondsman woo his wife until he gets her favors. After two years she doesn’t know what to do any more and entrust herself to her two servants. When her husband rides out she asks the knight to come to her place. The knight informs the husband who changes clothes with the knight and gets a fine beating until he reveals his identity. Now he has to confess his unjust suspicion. From now on he honors his wife highly. Epimythion: He who has a virtuous wife shall enjoy it and not embarrass her by distrust. None shall demand to prove the friendship at too high a risk.
