Promythion: A poet is not able to make things right for everyone. A man catches a heron with the help of a tame cock. Being very proud because of this success he has the bird dressed extraordinarily nicely and rides away to invite his lord to the meal. While away his wife and her friend eat the meal. When he comes home both deny having seen a heron anywhere. It is also unheard that somebody has caught a heron with a cock. The guest resolves the embarrassing situation by inviting his host.

Reihe-362:
While away the wife pretends to be ill and has her friend sleep in her bed and substitute for her. In her situation her husband’s impetuosity will hurt her. The friend hesitates but agrees.

Reihe-390:
The wife’s substitute is beaten up instead of the wife. The husband cuts off her braids. The next morning he finds his wife with a sane back and uncut hair and has to believe that he is not in his right mind.
