SchKF-210:   In his rage, the king kills the dwarf, but spares his wife, because his nephew, the duke Luitpolt of Austria, is convinced of her innocence and pleads for her. The king agrees to wait until she gives birth to her child, and then have her executed. The king instructs a knight to lead the banned woman away and burn her after the child’s birth. The child he should bring back to him. Duke Luitpolt has the knight promise to spare the queen. The marshal rides after the knight and kills him. The queen escapes to the forest, and a miner accepts her.

SchKF-261:   She earns her living with artful knitting, which the miner sells secretly in Paris, until she gives birth to a boy.

SchKF-277:   The faithful dog meanwhile watches his dead master, the knight. Once in a while it runs to the king’s court and takes bread from the royal table. Each time he attacks the marshal until the king wants to kill the dog.

SchKF-369:   The dog seeks shelter at Duke Luitpold’s, who accuses the marshal of the knight’s murder and demands an ordeal between dog and marshal.

SchKF-477:   The marshal is defeated and has to confess his guilt. He is punished with death on the wheel.

SchKF-536:   The king has searched for his wife, but in vain. Finally, after four years, he gets a clue from a shopkeeper who buys the precious knitting.
