Promythion: This story is meant as warning for young men about the cunning of women. Two Würzburgian painters are very close friends, and they share their flat and all their belongings. When one marries, the other falls in love with his friend’s wife and finds out that his love is returned.

One day the husband has business outside. As he distrusts his wife, he wants to paint a lamb between her legs, so he can find out from the color of the lamb if she has been faithful. Although she refuses, he paints the lamb anyway. When the lover appears, she tells him about the obstacle.
