historical overview of the con-
tribution of French scholars on
ancient Greek law, the papers
and responses are collected

tan law, the law of classical
Athens, epigraphic evidence
from other poleis of Hellenistic
and Roman times, legal papyri,
parallels to cuneiform legal
documents. The Symposium
supports the cooperation of
legal historians with those
studying all aspects of Clas-
sical Antiquity, allowing the
participants a free choice of
topics from their current areas
of research.

eröffnete. Eingeleitet durch
einen historischen Überblick
über den Beitrag Frankreichs
zur Gräzistik, sind die Vorträge
und Antworten in diesem Band
zusammengefasst: archai-
sches kretisches Recht, Recht
des klassischen Athen, epigra-
phische Zeugnisse aus weite-
ren Poleis der hellenistischen
und römischen Zeit, juristische
Papyri, Vergleich mit keil-
schriftlichen Rechtsurkunden.
